Images have been released showing the aftermath of a fire that occurred at a McDonald's restaurant in Monifieth. The 24-hour food outlet has been completely destroyed, leaving only a burnt-out shell.

Images have surfaced showing the aftermath of a massive fire that occurred at the McDonald's restaurant located in Monifieth.

Emergency teams were alerted to the raging fire shortly after 1am on Tuesday, as witnesses observed massive flames erupting from the structure.

No harm came to any of the employees working at the restaurant in Ethiebeaton Park, which operates 24 hours a day.

The structure is now a completely destroyed and charred remains.

As the sun rose on Tuesday morning, photographs captured the extensive damage inflicted upon the Monifieth McDonald’s building due to the fire.

According to Ben MacDonald, a reporter who is present at the Monifieth McDonald's fire, the restaurant has been completely destroyed.

It is highly unlikely that it will reopen in the near future.

The scene this morning is extremely calm and peaceful.

Now that the smoke has subsided, I detected its scent from a significant distance as I made my way towards Monifieth.

The staff members were fortunate to escape the building without any harm, but it must have been an extremely frightening experience for them.

Businesses such as Costa and David Lloyd are still able to transform vehicles into establishments on the Angus side.

There are still a few fire trucks present and several firefighters are currently on duty.

Law enforcement officials are present at this location and it is anticipated that they will remain here for an extended period.

The route to reach McDonald's was temporarily closed before, but it is now open again.
