A massive fire completely destroyed the McDonald's restaurant in Monifieth. Fortunately, all of the employees managed to escape without any injuries when the fire started on Tuesday morning.
A massive fire broke out overnight, completely destroying a McDonald's restaurant located in Monifieth.
Emergency responders rushed to Ethiebeaton Park at approximately 1:15 am on Tuesday following reports of a significant fire with flames erupting from the structure.
Several employees who were working at the restaurant that operates round the clock managed to come out of the incident without any injuries.
The reason for the fire is currently unknown and pictures reveal that the building has been completely destroyed by the fire.
At the peak of the fire, the A92 road was shut down, but it has now been reopened.
The owner of the Monifieth McDonald's franchise, Nick McPartland, spoke to The Courier after a fire destroyed the restaurant. McPartland mentioned that since the restaurant operates 24 hours, there were employees present when the fire broke out.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but everyone was able to evacuate the restaurant without any harm and there were no cases of smoke inhalation.
"We'll have to be patient and see how we can handle the situation with the branch, but I am grateful that the employees are unharmed."
A resident from Monifieth was walking her dog close to the restaurant and mentioned that her husband informed her about the closure of Arbroath Road earlier in the day. As a result, they were uncertain about how they would proceed in that direction.
"It's quite unfortunate, really. When you visit other branches, you often encounter chaos, but this particular branch stands out as a pleasant and clean environment that appears to be efficiently managed."

A different person who resides on the other side of the A92 from the restaurant mentioned, "We observed the presence of smoke at approximately 12:35 am."
We were feeling frightened due to the presence of a large amount of grass nearby, as we were unsure if it would catch fire.
The aroma of smoke was incredibly potent, and it was so thick that it obstructed our view of the driveway as it approached the house.
"It's unfortunate because it used to be an enjoyable destination to go to."
There were no injuries or deaths reported following a fire at the McDonald's located in Ethiebeaton Park. As a result of the incident, the road leading to the McDonald's was temporarily closed, but it has now been reopened.
Stagecoach has verified that the buses are currently operational within the vicinity.
Firefighters from four different fire stations in the vicinity joined forces to combat the fire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service representative stated that they received a notification about a fire at a business establishment located in Ethiebeaton Park, Monifieth at 1:13 am on Tuesday.
"Operations control dispatched four fire trucks and a tall ladder truck to the location."
There have been no reported injuries or deaths.
Police Scotland stated that they were only present to help with controlling and regulating traffic.
A representative from McDonald's stated that their restaurant on Monifieth – Arbroath Road is currently closed due to a significant fire that occurred at the location.
"All the employees present during the incident were successfully removed from the premises, and the fire and emergency services are currently present at the location."
