In Las Vegas, Nevada, David Benavidez defended his World Boxing Council interim super middleweight title by defeating Demetrius Andrade, a former two-weight world champion. Benavidez is now looking forward to a potential fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, aiming to become the undisputed champion.

"After winning the match, I want to show everyone that I am the true champion of the division. I am eager to fight Canelo. This new motivation was the reason I performed the way I did," Benavidez stated following the fight.

Initially, Benavidez was a bit sluggish, allowing his opponent to take the lead. However, once he carefully studied his opponent and picked up the pace, he was able to trap his rival in a corner. Using strong punches, Benavidez was able to force Andrade's corner to stop the fight after the sixth round.

In the meantime, Jermall Charlo won a clear victory over Jose Benavidez Jr. with judges scoring the fight 98-92, 99-91, and 100-90. This win comes after Charlo took a break from boxing for two years.

Charlo didn't allow Benavidez Jr. any space to maneuver, and even though he mentioned that his strength wasn't as evident that night, he plans to compete in three to four matches in 2024, regardless of the weight class he competes in.

During an exciting boxing event, Puerto Rican fighter Subriel Matias successfully defended his International Boxing Federation super lightweight title by defeating Shohjahon Ergashev. Matias aggressively fought against Ergashev, eventually leading to Ergashev's corner ending the fight in the sixth round.

Hector Luis Garcia from the Dominican Republic lost the World Boxing Association lightweight title to Lamont Roach in a close fight. The judges scored it as a split decision, with two judges scoring it 114-113 for Roach and one judge scoring it 116-111 for Roach.
