Fans Rally Behind Ellie Leach After Judges’ Controversial Comments on Intimacy in Argentine Tango Routine

Fans of Ellie strongly supported her performance in response to judges' criticisms about the "intimacy" of her routine. Ellie's Argentine Tango to Destiny's Child was a standout moment of the evening for a lot of viewers.

A week of Strictly Come Dancing wouldn't feel complete without some excitement and attention given to the judges' comments, right?

During this week's Saturday night episode, the couples showcased their skills in preparation for the upcoming semi-final. With tensions rising and excitement building, the dance floor reached new levels of exhilaration thanks to the presence of Ellie Leach.

Leach and her partner Vito Coppola worked together to perform a challenging Argentine Tango routine to Destiny's Child's song Bills, Bills, Bills.

Although the song and performance were memorable for a lot of people, the judges had some surprising criticism for the routine. The routine was intense and intimate, causing presenter Tess Daly to feel chills, but when the judges gave their feedback, Anton Du Beke was very honest and direct.

Anton mentioned that the performance was clean and brilliant, but he felt that it lacked a bit of intensity. He gestured about their dance moves, saying it seemed a bit predictable. However, he still praised them by saying they were brilliant.

The audience's negative reaction to Anton's comments showed that many fans did not agree with him, but Craig Revel Horwood did not hesitate to provide his own critique.

He expressed that he didn't believe the performance was lacking in energy, but rather in closeness. He felt that the A frame in the dance was sometimes missing, which made it not resemble an Argentine Tango. However, he still found the performance to be amazing and agreed with Anton that it was flawlessly executed.

Anton and Craig's comments were not well-received by viewers, who promptly shared their thoughts on Twitter (now known as X).

A viewer expressed their surprise by exclaiming "WHAT" when Anton mentioned that Ellie and Vito didn't have enough intensity.

Another fan had a different opinion about the judge's remarks. They expressed confusion because, in their view, Ellie and Vito's Argentine Tango could be described as "Intense" and "Intimate," as well as "Perfect."

However, this incident highlighted a recurring problem that some fans of Strictly Come Dancing have been experiencing with the scoring system. One fan expressed frustration, stating that they believe Ellie and Vito's performances deserved a perfect score of 40 multiple times. They questioned what more the judges could possibly be looking for.

Opinions may vary among fans and judges about certain remarks, but it is clear that the performance had a significant impact on tonight's episode. It received the highest score of the night.

One person on Twitter expressed their admiration for Ellie & Vito's Argentine Tango, watching it multiple times and considering it to be incredible enough to be in their hall of fame.

Currently, Ellie is leading the leaderboard, with Bobby Brazier from Eastenders following closely behind. Bobby's heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Jade Goody, moved the judges to tears and earned him a standing ovation from the audience.

There is still everything to play for as we anticipate the public's vote, especially since popular contestant Brazier was in the bottom two last week. It remains to be seen how things will progress for the couples this week. Only time will tell.

The next episode of Strictly Come Dancing will be on Saturday, November 25th at 7:30pm. The results will be revealed on Sunday, November 26th on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
