Fans Rally Behind Ellie Leach’s Argentine Tango Routine Despite Judges’ “Intimacy” Criticisms

Dedicated supporters of Ellie spoke out in support of her performance after judges criticized the "intimacy" of her routine. Many viewers considered Ellie's Argentine Tango to Destiny's Child to be the standout moment of the evening.

A week of Strictly Come Dancing wouldn't feel complete without some attention on the judges' feedback, don't you think?

During this week's episode on Saturday night, the couples showcased their skills in preparation for the upcoming semi-final. The competition is intensifying for all participants, and the dance floor reached new levels of excitement with the assistance of Ellie Leach.

Leach and her partner Vito Coppola tackled the challenging dance of performing an almost flawless Argentine Tango routine to the song Bills, Bills, Bills by Destiny's Child.

Even though many people found the song choice and performance to be iconic, the judges unexpectedly criticized the routine. The routine was intense and intimate, and Tess Daly was moved by it. However, Anton Du Beke did not hold back in giving his honest reaction to the performance.

"As we anticipated, your performance was well-executed and impressive. However, if we were to be overly critical, it seemed to lack a certain level of intensity. It appeared as though there was some repetition in your movements," Anton mentioned as he demonstrated their dance routine. Nevertheless, he ultimately praised their talent by stating, "I must admit, you are truly exceptional."

The audience's negative reaction to Anton's comments showed that many fans did not agree with him. Craig Revel Horwood did not hesitate to add his own criticism on top of that.

He expressed that he believed the performance was missing intimacy rather than intensity. He noted that the A frame in the dance was occasionally lacking, which made it not resemble an Argentine Tango. However, he still found the performance incredible and very well-executed, as Anton also mentioned it was flawless.

Anton and Craig's comments were not well-received by viewers, who expressed their thoughts on Twitter (now known as X).

A viewer expressed surprise and disbelief at Anton's comment about Ellie and Vito not having enough intensity in their performance.

In the same way, another viewer had a different opinion about the judge's remarks. They expressed confusion because they believed the Argentine Tango performed by Ellie and Vito was best described as intense, intimate, and perfect.

However, this situation is also contributing to a consistent problem that some viewers of Strictly Come Dancing have been experiencing with the scoring system. One viewer expressed frustration by saying that they have observed multiple performances by Ellie and Vito that deserved a perfect score of 40, questioning what more the judges are looking for.

Opinions among fans and judges may vary on individual comments, but one thing is clear – the routine had a significant impact on tonight's episode and ended up receiving the highest score of the night.

According to a Twitter user, they have watched Ellie & Vito's Argentine Tango multiple times and find it to be incredibly impressive. They believe it deserves a spot in their personal hall of fame.

Currently, Ellie is leading the leaderboard, with Eastenders actor Bobby Brazier closely following behind. Bobby's heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Jade Goody, moved the judges to tears and earned him a standing ovation from the audience.

The public's decision is eagerly anticipated, especially after fan-favorite Brazier was in danger of elimination last week. It remains to be seen how things will pan out for the couples this week. Only time will tell.

The next episode of Strictly Come Dancing will be on Saturday 25th November at 7:30pm, followed by the results show airing on Sunday 26th November on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
